Frequently Asked Questions

Product

Do all Piedàterre Friulane fit the same way?

No, the fit of Piedàterre Friulane varies by model. The Dandy, Mary Jane (adult version), and Brodsky models have a smaller fit: we recommend choosing
one size up from your usual size.

The Modigliani and Wilde models, on the other hand, tend to have a more regular fit.

For any questions, you can check the size guide or contact our customer service at info@piedaterrevenezia.com.

My velvet Friulane arrived with marks on the fabric: is it a defect?

No, in the vast majority of cases it is not a defect. Velvet is a
precious fabric with a natural characteristic
: the fibers move and can create slight
variations in tone or apparent marks during transport or handling. This phenomenon is an intrinsic feature of velvet, not an imperfection.

How to fix it: simply brush the velvet gently in circular motions, using a velvet brush, following the grain of the fabric.

The fibers will return to their natural position and the color will appear uniform. If the mark persists after brushing, contact our customer service for an assessment.

How do you clean and maintain velvet Friulane?

Piedàterre velvet Friulane require simple maintenance to preserve their beauty over time:
Daily cleaning: gently brush with a velvet brush following the grain in circular motions.

Light stains: dab with a damp cloth without rubbing. Allow to air dry, away from direct heat sources.
Storage: store the Friulane in a dry place. Avoid compressing the velvet to prevent crushing the fibers.
Being entirely handmade artisan footwear, careful maintenance ensures long-lasting wear.

For other fabrics such as silk or wool, we recommend contacting our customer service.

Could the color of the Friulane appear different from what is shown on the website?

Yes, slight differences in shade between the color displayed on screen and the actual product color are possible. This depends on several factors: monitor calibration, the lighting conditions in which the photo was taken and viewed, and the artisanal nature of the velvet dyeing process, which can produce minor variations between batches.

Some colors, such as Azure, are particularly sensitive to these perception differences. We constantly strive to make our photographs as accurate as possible.

If you would like color confirmation before purchasing, please do not hesitate to contact us or visit our shops in Venice, where you can see and touch the materials in person.

Can I exchange the size of my Friulane if it's not the right one?

Yes, Piedàterre offers the possibility of size exchange for both online and in-store purchases.

To request a size exchange, contact our customer service with your order number and desired new size.

Can Friulane be worn outside?

Yes, Piedàterre Friulane are designed to be worn both indoors and outdoors.

The non-slip rubber sole makes them perfect for walking on any surface, including the Venetian calli.
They are versatile footwear suitable for every occasion, from aperitifs to elegant events.

Is Piedàterre the first Friulane shop in Venice?

Yes. Piedàterre was founded in 1952 on the Rialto Bridge and was the first shop in Venice dedicated exclusively to Venetian Friulane.

Today it has two shops in the heart of the city: at Rialto and in Campo Santo Stefano.
