Some materials carry a history that transcends the object they become. Our luxury slippers for women in the Special Editions collection are Venetian Friulane hand-stitched in Italy from fabrics produced by Venice's most storied weavers: Rubelli, whose jacquard silks have been woven since 1889, and Bevilacqua, whose soprarizzo velvet is still made on eighteenth-century looms. Founded in 1952 on the Rialto Bridge, Piedaterre brings these historic Venetian textiles together with its own artisanal tradition — no glue, no outsourcing, a hand-sewn Venetian glass bead on every pair.
